The Communicative Disorders program at UCF offers the option of a B.A. or B.S. degree track. The program is designed as a pre-professional course of study. Coursework includes study in normal and abnormal language development, articulation, phonetics and disorders of the hearing mechanism. Pre-professional skills are developed in labs associated with specific courses.
Clinical practicum and observation are strongly emphasized in the program of study. Students are actively involved in an observation/participation setting in the departments well-equipped communicative disorders clinic. The undergraduate program provides the necessary course work to prepare students for further study in speech-language pathology and audiology. Requirements for the Florida state Licensed Speech Pathology or Audiology Assistant Program can be completed through the regular B.S./B.A. requirements.
