The International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) is a non-profit, non-political and nongovernmental, worldwide organisation which works for the benefit of persons with speech, language, voice, swallowing and hearing disorders. The Organisation was established in 1924 and has two major subfields, logopedics and phoniatrics.
IALP adopts the policy of non-discrimination with respect to race, national origin, religion, handicapping conditions and sex.
IALP represents a professional body of 125.000 specialists in human communication through the 56 affiliated national societies from 38 countries and over three hundred individual members. IALP has informative status with UNESCO, UNICEF, WHO, ECOSOC and CIOMS.
